Description
Gorica quarter is the part of Berat that lies on the left bank of the river Osum. The area decorated with cobbled paved streets, stone houses and small orthodox churches. From that side of the river, you have magnificent views looking back over the Berat district of Mangalem.
Following the Ottoman conquest of the era, the Gorica quarter became the Christian Quarter
with two churches – St Soyridon’s (Kisha e Shën Spiridonit) and Church of St
Thomas (Kisha e Shën Thomait).
You can cross over the Old Bridge of Gorica, and return to the center of Berat through
the new bridge.
