Valbons Waterfall

The spring of Valbona, is a natural spring that creates at the same time an attractive waterfall (Rragam Waterfall), located near the village Rragam i Shales, at the top of the Valbona valley, in more or less the same direction as the path to Thethit.

From this source to its discharge into Lake Fierza, the Valbona River has a length of about 50 km, hiding along the Valbona valley in the inhabited area, and reappearing again at the height of the village Dragobi; forming the attractive canyon of Shoshan and expanding and calming in the area of Bujan, where it joins the Drini and together supply the artificial lake of Fierza.

 

The source of the Valbona River is another wonder of alpine nature that should be visited if you go to Valbona. The path to ‘Burimi’ and at the same time Rragam Waterfall starts exactly from this area, from Rragam village and from here the light / medium step consists of 50-60 min walk in one direction, through the beech forest and crossing a level up to 200 mt maximum.

From the inns in the valley to Rragam the road passes through the whole valley of Valbona, through the white bed of the river hidden in the area of Llom to Rragam. Road which can be done on foot or with local vehicles according to the personal desire of everyone and fitness to cope with walking.

 

In the area of Rragam village there are some inns or ‘bars’ in shelters built entirely of wood where you can enjoy a coffee or a refreshing drink, and watch closely how the residents carry out their village activities as if time has stopped there.
