The museum is located in a traditional house which stands apart from the street. On the ground floor, there is a broad range of archaeological findings – mostly recovered in the immediate area – items from Neolithic times through the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. In this exhibit there are good explanations of everything in English. Upstairs, a room is decorated in the traditional way and displays provide detailed explanations of traditional men’s and women’s clothing from the last century, which reflect various lifestyle and ethno-religious factors. In this exhibit there are hilarious explanations of everything in English.
Shkodra Historical Museum, is a unique museum, which gives a broad overview of the history of the city from different eras and ancient historical periods. Its building, which is a house from 1815, belonged to a wealthy merchant, so visitors can enjoy the traditional architecture of Albanian houses.
