History:
Classified as a cultural monument of the first category, the Golik Bridge was built in the 17th century. 17 meters long, 3 meters wide and 10 meters high, this bridge was part of the Via Egnatia. It has two semicircular vaults, between which there is a discharge window (also with a semicircular vault), and in the column between the two arches, on the side of the water inlet is built a spout (water slit, a characteristic that most bridges with two or more arches in Albania).
The bridge is built with carved stones, where the lower part of the arch stands out, which has large and well-worked stones, not just for aesthetics, but to make the structure more solid and strong.Golik Bridge on the Shkumbin River, part of the Via Egnatia, remains a tourist attraction especially for cultural heritage enthusiasts.
It is located in the area of Mokra, 40 km away from the town of Pogradec on the Shkumbin River in the village of Golik.
